Occasionally in life there are those moments of
unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those
symbols called words. Their meanings can only be Articulated by the inaudible Language of the heart.
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
The following people are people who have wanted to help us, HELP ONE WOMAN. We have seen extraordinary results from their efforts!
HOW Dinner Recipient: Gina
My name is Gina I was very honored to be a recipient of a HOW dinner. With having cancer I try my hardest to stay positive for myself and my 3 children, but sometimes there comes a point where you start to run low because it takes so much energy to be positive. That night at the HOW dinner with seeing how much the people I knew, and people I didnt know cared about me just refueled me. I since then have been to another HOW dinner and I expect to be at them every month as long as I am able. If I can help one woman feel even half as great as I felt that night than thats something I want to be a part of. I look so forward to the HOW dinner every month. I have met so many people from that dinner that I now call my friends and I am so grateful for that.
HOW Dinner Recipient: Michelle
We honored Michelle Todd at our November 2009 H.O.W. Dinner. Michelle, graciously, accepted the monetary gift that helped to pay expenses for travel to Philadelphia to receive and train with her medical alert dog, Shellie. The two are now inseparable. Recently, Shellie alerted Michelle to the stroke that Michelle was experiencing. She is this woman's best friend and life saver. All those in attendance at the January H.O.W. Dinner were filled with joy at the realization of what Helping One Woman can do to help one woman at a time.
HOW Dinner recipient: Jennifer
Jennifer accepted the HOW gift, from the women present, with tears in her eyes and a thankful heart; not just for the monetary gift but that we noticed and we cared.
Michelle Todd is Jennifer's H.O.W. sponsor. Michelle is, also, a H.O.W. recipient
Chapter Leader: Connie Johnson
In June 2009, I wandered into a little salon in the Radisson Hotel in Fresno while attending the Miss California Pageant. There I met a woman with a vision. While cutting my hair, she told me about her passion for “Helping One Woman”, at a time… I immediately bonded with this woman, Charlotte Bavaro.
H.O.W. is focused on just doing what we can do and then letting that multiply by sharing our vision with others. The simplicity of this organization and the integrity of the women involved, coupled with, the belief that I can make a difference is what inspired me to launch the first Southern California Chapter of H.O.W. What joy it brings to help another woman. In the past few months, I have witnessed the miracle that occurs when you allow yourself to do a small thing. Nothing is small in God's eyes. He can multiply our efforts as we reach out to show love and concern to a woman he has placed in our path.
